Feature Story: She brings the happy with balloons, more

Marion Bradley and Devin before a party

WARNER ROBINS, GEORGIA: Marion Bradley stands in the dining area of a local Dairy Queen with a balloon in her hand, as she begins to create a figure for an eager child sitting in front of her, watching her earnestly. All the while that she is twisting the balloon into the shape, Bradley, owner of Balloons-n-Parties in Warner Robins, is laughing and engaging the child in conversation.

“I just love to bring smiles,” Bradley said later.

With her company, The Balloon-n-Parties, located at 1300 Watson Blvd. In Warner Robins, Bradley has bringing smiles to people since the 1990s. Prior to starting her own company – which she did out of her home for a bit – Bradley dressed up in costumes and delivered balloons and singing telegrams around Warner Robins.

Some of her costumes ranged from a Playboy Bunny to a Chicken. “One time, I went to headquarters on the Base, and I was a little nervous … my dad was there … but he was like, ‘That’s my daughter,’” Bradley grinned.

“I love balloons … there is just something about them … they are bright and colorful …” She said with a smile.

Bradley even was a professional clown for a while – she went by the name ‘Mrs. Daisy.’ “I would sing and just make them happy.”

She said, “It is our goal to make people smile and make memories … As the economy went low, people still had parties … anything to make memories and be happy even in hard times.”

Balloons-n-Parties is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. The phone number is 478-328-1234.
