Feature Story: She is every bit the Proverbs 31 woman

Rebecca Carter and her oldest granddaughter.

This is story 13 in a series of hopefully many about women who have influenced us the most. It is all about March being Women’s History Month.

LAGRANGE, GEORGIA: Kavita Ramdas once wrote, “We need women who are so strong they can be gentle, so educated they can be humble, so fierce they can be compassionate, so passionate they can be rational, and so disciplined they can be free.”

One wonders if maybe, she was thinking about Rebecca Carter – mother and grandmother.

According to her daughter, Mary Beth Pelt, Becky Carter “is the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman.”

She said, “I know it sounds cliches, but it is not … my mom is the woman who has influenced me the most.”

Mary Beth continued, “The daughter of a Southern Baptist minister, my mom grew up in a life of a service, and still live it out today.”

“She has nurtured me … taught me the ways of Jesus, and how to follow Him. My mom models Him in her life,” she said. “My mom exudes love and joy and long-suffering.”This is story 13 in a series of hopefully many about women who have influenced us the most. It is all about March being Women’s History Month.

Mary Beth added, “She loves being ‘Mimi’ to her three grandchildren … our dog even adores her, and they share a bond like no other.”

Smiling, Mary Beth concluded, “My mom is just the literal best.”
