Junior needs your vote in photography contest

COCHRAN, GEORGIA: Robert Adams once said, “No place is boring if you have a good night’s sleep and a pocket full of unexposed film …” Or a bunch of batteries.

I bet McKenna Edwards, age 16 and a junior at Bleckley County High School, feels the same way.

The daughter of Mike and Jennifer Edwards, McKenna started taking photos when she was younger. “I would help my mama take photos, and watch her doing that really interested me to do so too.”

McKenna said, “Around the 7th grade, my 4-H DPA project is photography. I have placed second almost all the years I have participated.”

This year, things took a different turn. McKenna is participating in the state photography – voting closes Friday. Check on Facebook at this link. (Georgia 4-H on Facebook, and look for the photography contest album.)

Voting consists of liking one of McKenna’s pictures. (See photos at the bottom of this story)

“I found out about this competition from my County 4-H Agent Meredith Baggs,” McKenna stated. “This competition gives me more experience with photography. I placed first in color photography at the state BETA convention I nJanuray, and second in the National BETA convention this past month.”
