He was in a yard tied up with a broken leg from tangling with a bigger dog. He was matted and dirty. There was a chicken bone in his bowl.
His name is Hercules. He is a seven pound Yorkie. Hercules was two when he was in the backyard. Now he is an “old man.”
You’d look at him and shake your head. The name doesn’t seem to be right for a dog his size.
Aw. Wait until you hear the rest of his story.
He was rescued. After a few baths and clipping, his new family threw in a lot of love and a visit to the vet. Hercules lost the broken leg. Thoughts were that Hercules wouldn’t be OK.

The latest dog addition to the house is a clumsy but lovable chocolate Lab named Bella. Bella has 20 plus pounds on the three-legged Hercules. Yet, Bella is intimidated by Hercules.
Hercules can jump on a couch and the recliner. He barks when you enter and when you leave. He loves his owners and likes the Andy Griffith theme song.
And he can sit on his back good legs and give you a grin. As he has gotten older, Hercules has encountered health challenges, and though he is a little slower now, he keeps moving.

After all, real strength comes from within no matter what size you are or if you have all your moving parts or not.
